Passive Fire Protection -  Webinar

CPD webinar for architects, engineers, body corporate managers, builders, trades & construction professionals

Approved for 2 formal CPD points

Passive Fire Protection has always been a problem. Now with the issues surrounding cladding, it is increasingly becoming highlighted as a major issue.

Electricians & plumbers install the products to the best of their abilities and knowledge, however "fire protection" is not their ‘trade’ and they don’t have   time to invest in gaining the detailed knowledge and training to ensure the products are correctly installed, as per the fire testing & system certificates.

Fire safety in commercial buildings begins with the architect designing a building in such a way that fires won't take place, selecting materials to restrict fire spreading and ensuring systems are in place to put the fire out quickly if and/or when one starts.

This webinar to be led by Darryl Waddingham will look at:

  • Pre design considerations for fire safety

  • Role of architect in design & documentation phase, role of builder & trades on site

  • Building regulations, code and fire and life safety for building projects

  • Alternative, cost-effective design solutions to achieve compliance

  • Role of fire engineer and when a fire engineer should be used

  • Typical  fire engineering solutions with case study on structural steel

  • Materials - combustible v non combustible -glass, steel, timber, plaster, fabrics, coatings

  • Collaboration - architect, builder, certifier, fire engineer, fire brigade and on site trades

  • Dealing with relevant statutory authorities

Webinar will comprise presentation by Darryl and a Q&A session

Cost to attend is $75 per person plus GST or book 4 or more from one company for $60 per person plus GST. Fee includes live access to the webinar, recording of presentation and a CPD certificate for 2 formal points approved by Refuel
